Silent tears

Tears are rare like gemstones don't you think? They're not easy to come by so they must be cherished. We don't search for them intentionally and when they come to hold a grip on us, we let them out so easily. How I wish they can be treasured up somewhere visible to us so we can all avoid them. Tears are powerful I must confess.

But believe me they come in degrees: crying, laughter, sobbing, wailing and ultimately silent tears.

If you have a Yoruba mom, you must have heard this saying that "heart wound brings about unending tears". I believed I should see my mom cry each time she complains that my way of life sometimes causes her heart pain but no mama is always with dry eyes and I wondered why. Don't get me wrong: I didn't mean to see her cry, I just wanted to see what degree it will be.

I have come to realize that silent tears don't require a person to tear up but that constant sorrow you get each time you remember triggers it. What more is agonizing than this? I mean there's problem recognition but the person in question has decided not to solve it thereby inflicting pain on the third party. It's really sad and I wish I realized earlier.

Self inflicted pain also births silent tears especially that one thing you can't tell anyone that is really heating you up. Sometimes it's a harsh and stupid decision you made like I did sometimes ago.

Yeah, that's silent tears that always begat empty smile but who says that heart wound cannot heal up once you take the right treatment. Ain't you tired of the pains that come with them? Then begin that healing process today, your entire life depends on the choice you make after closing this article. It takes time so it should start now!!!

  3. Yeah, tears either heal you or break you. But this time it's the one that beats you so hard that you don't want to wallow in it for long but keeps you stuck in there

  6. ....hmmm.... Asf...your wounds don't heal if you don't open up to others... It's okay to cry but it will tire you out one day unless you decide to let it all go by opening up.... Beautiful piece

  10. Hmmmm... Tears tho... It's painful anytime I cry cause most times I don't want to cry but then I cant hold it so they just come without my consent, I think the degrees of tears depends on the person's personality and the current situation that begat the tear... I think wailing is for moms but me I do silent tears.... ///
